Oklahoma Business Entity Search

Oklahoma’s Search Corporation Entities page, which the Secretary of State’s homepage calls “Search for a Registered Business”, lets you look up entities by name, filing number, registered agent or person. You can read the results list without an account, but opening an entity’s record led to a contact form in our test.

How to search

  1. Open Search Corporation Entities using the button above. Don’t copy a link with a session segment such as /(S(...))/ in it.
  2. Enter a business name in Entity Name and select Search. For an identifier, expand Advanced Search and choose Filing Number Search.
  3. Compare the filing numbers, names, entity types, registered agents and Name Type & Status in the results, using pagination as needed.
  4. Selecting a filing number to continue to the record led to a Contact Information form asking for a personal name and email. Decide for yourself whether to continue through the government’s normal process. We can’t promise anonymous access beyond the results list.
  5. For registered agent searches, choose the right Business or Individual mode and read the warning about older filings below.

What you can expect to find

  • The results table has the columns Filing Number, Name, Entity Type, Registered Agent and Name Type & Status, with pagination. A search for a company name showed Total Results: 500. Rows included trade names, a name reservation, cities and towns, a professional solicitor, corporations and LLCs, so results can be broader than an exact name match.
  • We did not reach the record summary behind the contact form, so this guide does not describe filing dates, addresses or other record fields.
  • Name Type & Status in a result is not necessarily the entity’s overall good-standing status.

Limitations, fees and notices

  • The official fee page lists basic business entity information and a name availability search as free. Its listed free fields include filing number, entity type, state of incorporation and the registered agent’s name and address. That is the state’s statement and we did not confirm each field anonymously. The results list itself needed no payment, account or CAPTCHA.
  • Other services are paid, per the fee page: View Entity Details for 1 to 3 entities is $5, a Certificate of Good Standing is $20, certification of a copy is $10 and a Name Reservation is $10. Other filing fees vary by document and entity type.
  • For entities filed before June 25, 2003, registered agents are stored as business names even if they are people. To find those individual agents, enter the exact individual name in the Business Name field. For later filings, use the right Business or Individual classification and try name variations.
  • The official FAQ says inactive dates and the number of years owed are not available online, and sends people to the Annual Certificate Department.
  • A free name availability search is not a paid reservation or a final filing approval.

Sources and research notes

Research for this guide used the official Oklahoma sites in a web browser. A name search and its results list were tested. Selecting a record led to a contact form, which was not filled in, so no record screens were reviewed.
